Our Story

Indian Lake Brewing Company

For the Founders of Roundhouse Depot Brewing (“RDBC”), Ron and Kathy Troyer, owning a brewery was an inevitability like death or taxes. When you are as passionate about beer and brewing and community like Ron and Kathy are, then nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams. After spending countless hours driving from state to state trying various beers all over the Midwest and home-brewing for years they knew it was time to go “pro”. And it was that spark of passion that brought RDBC and now, Indian Lake Brewing, to fruition.

When it came time to pick a partner in this new venture, Ron and Kathy knew they needed someone with a love of craft beer, a head for business and passionate about the Indian Lake community. Enter Rebekah Smith. An accountant with a passion for craft beer and her community, Rebekah sets the vision for ILBC and is part of the day-to-day operations. At the heart of ILBC is community. Sure, we make some amazing craft beer, wine and cider, but the driving force behind what we do at the lake every day is community. Creating a space where friends can come together and catch up or play cards/board game. Where you can bring your whole family, kids included, to relax and connect. Or where people can build new friendships and expand their community. Rebekah operates the business in a “community first” manner. Whether that’s the fund-raising events the brewery hosts or just giving back wherever ILBC can, community is part of the fabric of ILBC.
